Dr. Sydney Pokard

Associate Veterinarian, DVM

Dr. Sydney Pokard is an Orange County native who joined our team in June 2016 following her graduation from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA.

Dr. Pokard completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2010. During college she was an active member of the Pre-Veterinary Club and Livestock Show Team. She returned home on weekends and summers to work with local veterinarians and volunteer at the Orange County Zoo. During her veterinary education at WesternU, Dr. Pokard traveled across the globe to learn veterinary medicine, including spending five weeks in South Africa working with African hoofstock, birds, reptiles, primates, and large carnivores. She also participated in volunteer efforts to bring veterinary care to rural communities in the Southwestern U.S., and completed the national Veterinary Business Management Association certificate program.

Dr. Pokard’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dermatology, dentistry, and exotic animal medicine. Dr. Pokard is a member of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

In her free time, Dr. Pokard enjoys taking her dog Sunny to the dog beach, going to Disneyland with her friends, hiking, meditation, and foodie adventures. She looks forward to serving the local community and working with your furry family members!
